The founder of the human rights project Gulagu.net, Vladimir Osechkin, was put on the wanted list, it follows from the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Under what article of the Criminal Code he is wanted, it is not specified, RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier Osechkin published videos of torture and sexual violence against convicts in a prison tuberculosis hospital in the Saratov region.
Archive the video recordings were handed over to the project by the Belarusian programmer Sergei Savelyev. He was arrested in absentia and put on the wanted list in the Russian Federation on charges of illegal access to computer information. However, later his data was removed from the database of wanted persons.
As it turned out, the prosecutor's office of the Saratov region canceled the decision to initiate a criminal case against Savelyev, the materials were sent for verification to the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee.
After checking the video recordings on the facts of violence against prisoners, five criminal cases were initiated. 18 employees were dismissed from the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Saratov Region. Among them is the head of the regional department of the department.
